Nourish Our ‘Ohana at Waikiki Beachside Hostel

From November 18 through November 30, Waikiki Beachside Hostel is teaming up with Hawai‘i Foodbank for a Food and Fund Drive. Guests, neighbors, and staff can pitch in to support local families. You can give funds online or donate shelf-stable food that Hawai‘i Foodbank highlights as most needed. Every bit helps feed our island community.

How To Take Part

  • Where: Waikiki Beachside Hostel
  • When: Nov 18 to Nov 30
  • Who benefits: Hawai‘i Foodbank programs that fight hunger across O‘ahu
  • How to give: Scan the donation QR code on site or visit the food bank online to contribute funds. You can also donate shelf-stable foods listed below.
  • More ways to help: For help, donation info, or volunteer details, call 808-836-3600 or visit HawaiiFoodbank.org.

Top Five Most Needed

Hawai‘i Foodbank lists these as the most needed for this drive:

  • Monetary donations – give online at hawaiifoodbank.org/donate
  • Canned proteins – tuna, chicken, and other lean meats
  • Canned meals – soup, stew, chili, and pasta
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Bags of rice – five to ten pound bags

Why Funds Matter

Cash gifts help Hawai‘i Foodbank purchase exactly what is needed, when it is needed. Monetary donations also stretch farther through bulk buying and local partnerships. If you are traveling light, this is the easiest way to make an immediate impact.

Easy Donation Tips

  • Bring unopened, in-date items with ingredient labels.
  • Choose protein-rich and nutrient-dense options from the list above.
  • If you cannot carry food, use the QR code posted at the hostel to donate online in seconds.
  • Tell your travel buddies and tag the cause with #NourishOurOhana and #EndHunger to spread the word.

Short on time during checkout day? Call 808-836-3600 for quick guidance on the best way to give.

What To Expect On Site

Look for the Hawai‘i Foodbank flyer at Waikiki Beachside Hostel with the QR code and the bold call to Donate Today. Staff can point you to the drop area for food items and share how to use the QR code for a fast online gift.

Thank You From Our ‘Ohana
