The Real Deal on Drinking and Weekly Events at Waikiki Beachside Hostel

If you’re staying at the Waikiki Beachside Hostel and wondering if you can bring a drink to the lounge—yes, you can. But like any good place that mixes fun and comfort, there are a few ground rules to follow.

Can I Drink at the Hostel?

Yes, drinking alcohol is allowed for guests who are 21 and over. You’re welcome to bring your own beverages, but keep it chill—excessive drinking isn't allowed, and staff have the final word on what “too much” looks like.

Also important:

  • No smoking, vaping, or drug use anywhere on the property.
  • No unregistered guests are allowed in the building—ever.
  • Quiet hours start at 10:00 PM, enforced strictly under city law.
  • If your behavior disrupts others, you may be asked to stop or leave.

So, enjoy that sangria or glass of wine—but keep it respectful and relaxed.

Can I Bring My Own Alcohol?

Absolutely—BYOB is allowed, just make sure you’re 21 or older and drink responsibly. The lounge is a great space to enjoy your drinks during the events. Just remember, disruptive behavior will get you shut down.

Where Can I Buy Alcohol Near the Hostel?

Here are the closest places to stock up:

  • ABC Store (next door to WBSH approx. 3-minute walk) – Perfect for beer, wine, seltzers, and mixers.
  • Food Pantry Waikiki (approx. 5-minute walk) – Larger selection of wine and spirits.
