Check-in Requirements


We are a travelers only hostel and all guests must show a current valid ID and proof of ongoing travel in the form of one of the following: Flight or cruise ticket (an itinerary is acceptable so long as it states the date of departure from Honolulu).


Minimum age is 18 years of age and older.

We do not restrict any ages over 18, however, every guest must be fully capable of climbing 3 flights of stairs (with their luggage) and a bunkbed.

Please note that an elevator and/or luggage lift are not available on this property. 


Beds preferences (ie: upper bunk, lower bunk) are not guaranteed and are based on first come, first serve.

If a guest is unable to sleep on the top bunk and that is all that is available, then no refund will be given should the reservation be canceled last minute.


Down payment of first nights stay is required to secure your reservation and the rest of the balance will be due at check in. We accept only Visa or Mastercard. No cash transactions are allowed.


Reception is open from 6am to 12am (midnight).

Check in time is at 3:00pm, Check out time is no later than 11:00am.


Courtesy luggage storage is ONLY available at check-in (for early arrivals) and check- out (for late night departure flights). There is no overnight or long term storage available due to limited space. If this happens, fees could incur up to $15/bag per day and the cancellation of any future bookings.


Group reservations for more than 5 beds/people, please email contact@waikikibeachsidehostel.com to make arrangements and secure your bookings. Reservations for 5 or more require a 50% down payment or may result in cancelation.


By making a reservation with Waikiki Beachside Hostel, you hereby agree to the Terms & Conditions listed above. 


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation must be made in writing at least 48 hours prior to arrival for a full refund of any balance paid.


Instructions are as follows:


Reservations booked through Waikiki Beachside Hostel or Hostel World, please email us at contact@waikikibeachsidehostel.com. Please include your full name, confirmation number, and dates.


For reservations booked through any other third-party websites, please contact your agency for any cancellations (ie: booking.com etc.. ). After receiving a response, send a follow up email to contact@waikikibeachsidehostel.com to receive a proper refund.

*The follow-up email is required as we do not have full control of reservations made through third-party agencies nor are we given updates regarding cancellations from these outside sources. If no email is given for a cancellation notification, then we cannot guarantee that any refunds will be given.


Group reservations for 5 or more beds/people, there is a 50% down payment to secure the reservation. Cancellations must be made 30 days in advance for a full refund by sending an email to contact@waikikibeachsidehostel.com.

*If a group reservation is split to avoid this policy, the same policy still applies to the reservations involved.


House Rules

All guests must read through our terms and conditions page on waikikibeachside.com before making a reservation. (The rules listed below are not the terms and conditions, so please reference our website for further details).


Check out time is no later than 11:00am. All personal possessions must be out of the room before that time or additional charges may occur. Re-entry into the room is not allowed after check out.

Please return all linens (both sheets and pillowcase), any towels, and name tag(s) to reception. All linens and/or towels may go into the linen bags outside of reception and the name tag may go to the receptionist or under the door if reception is closed.


Smoking, vaping, and/or any drug use is prohibited from every area of the property at all times. This includes, but is not limited to: Entrance, hallways, common areas, bathrooms, balconies, rooms, and stairways. Guests found to be in violation may be assessed fees up to $250 and asked to leave the property immediately.


Excessive alcohol is prohibited. Staff reserves the right to determine “excessive” for any substance use and whether a disruption has been caused.


Quiet time is strictly enforced by 10:00pm due to City Ordinance laws.


No unregistered guests are allowed on property at any time.


The kitchen and lounge are open from 6am-10pm daily.


Please help to maintain a clean environment by washing, drying, and properly storing all dishes. Food must be sealed tightly and labeled with your name, room number and date of departure. Any unlabeled or improperly stored food/liquids will be discarded.


Luggage and personal items must be kept in lockers or on/under beds to maintain a safe and tidy environment (Do not leave items in walkways, bathrooms, and shared common areas as this creates a fire hazard).

Mattresses must be kept on the bunkbed.


Staff reserves the right to enter the rooms at any time due to suspicion of violating house rules and any other reasons pertaining to guest' safety and cleanliness.


Social Media use of guests photographs and videos. By tagging “Waikiki Beachside Hostel” online or by publishing photographs and videos into the hostel chat group, the individual waives all rights to inspect the images and approve them. The grantor also agrees that there is no compensation of any kind to include royalties from the use of their images and videos.


I (the reservee) have carefully read the above statements. By reserving a room with Waikiki Beachside Hostel, I confirm that I will abide by the hostel rules and understand that I will be removed without refund for violation.
